kubricks are little toy figures made by japanese company medicom. an article in the new yorker magazine described them as having "a marvelous waxy opacity that acts on your wallet like a chainsaw." or something like that... a convoluted way of saying they are irresistible. the waxy opacity is indeed marvelous. i started collecting them a couple of years ago, and now they litter my home, popping up in my medicine cabinet, my spice rack, nestled under the leaves of my orchid... and kubricks just opened the door to all the other types of little collectible toys. i've made it my little hobby to take pictures of them in the wild.
